A storm of Brazilian foods has rained upon my kitchen this week! From coxinha and kibe to carequinha and beiju, I have enjoyed learning several new recipes from my mother-in-law. Today, she made us this Lemon Mousse with some small lemons (I think that’s what they are–they’re the size of key limes but yellow rather than green) we found at the Mexican grocery store yesterday. But, you could make it with lime juice or any number of fruits–passion fruit and guava are both popular flavors for this dessert in Brazil. It’s refreshing, delicious, fast and very easy!

Lemon Mousse
Serves 6 to 8
14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
7-ounce can table cream (in the Hispanic aisle)
1/3 cup lemon juice* or to taste
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend for 2 to 3 minutes, until well combined. Pour into serving dishes and chill before serving.
*If using a different type of fruit, adjust quantity of fruit juice/pulp to taste.
Nice pictures!
Thank you!
