While we don’t go into Bixby very often, we heard good things about a new barbecue restaurant so we ventured downtown to try out Jake’s Place BBQ.
If you haven’t been there yet, I would definitely recommend it!
According to their website, Jake’s Place started as a result of a hobby as Jake and his family competed in barbecue competitions. People started asking where they could purchase the food and the hobby evolved into a business. The family’s passion for food is evident in the quality of the food you’re served at Jake’s Place.
For $17, Josue and I split the sampler platter, which came with brisket, a rib, a hotlink, a pig wing, and pulled pork. They allowed us to substitute extra brisket for the bologna that came on the platter. It also came with two sides and we ordered the potato flats (homemade kettle chips) and garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was excellent and we had enough leftovers for a second meal!
I took a peak behind the restaurant at the place where the magic happens.
I have a feeling we’re going to be making more trips to Bixby in the near future!
